Give a household member their own sign-in

Owners can give a person in the household their own login by assigning an email and role. Access applies at once, or on their first sign-in if they have no account yet.

Overview

A person in your household can have their own Personal360 sign-in. You link a login email and a role to their profile. If that email already has an account, access starts straight away. If not, the access waits as pending and becomes active the first time they sign up or sign in with that email.

People who don't need to sign in, such as young children, can stay as profiles without a login.

Before you start

  • You must be an Owner of the household.
  • Add the person to the household first. See Add a person.
  • Agree on which email they will use.

Steps

  1. Open People and click the person's name.
  2. Find Login & access and click + Assign login.
  3. Enter their Login email, for example asha@example.com.
  4. Choose a Role: Owner — full control, Adult — edit, reveal, export, Limited — own data only (sees only the person record carrying their login email) or Member — read-only.
  5. Click Grant.
  6. The section shows a chip with the email and role. If they don't have an account yet, it also shows pending.
  7. Tell the person to sign up or sign in at Personal360 with that exact email.
Important:Personal360 does not send an invitation email for this. Let the person know yourself.
Tip:On the People page, a key chip next to a person's name shows their login role, so you can see who can sign in at a glance.

Change or remove access

  1. In Login & access, click Change to pick a different role, then Grant.
  2. Click Remove to take away their login access. Their profile and records stay.

Example

Vikram Mehta adds his wife Priya to "the Mehta household". He clicks + Assign login, enters priya@example.com, chooses Adult — edit, reveal, export and clicks Grant. The chip shows pending until Priya creates her account with that email, and then the household appears for her.

FAQs

Does the person need an account first?

No. You can assign access before they sign up. It becomes active on their first sign-in.

Can I remove my own access?

No. This protects you from locking yourself out. A household also always keeps at least one Owner.

Will removing a login delete their records?

No. Only the sign-in access is removed. The person's profile and records stay in the household.

Troubleshooting

The chip still says pending

The person hasn't signed up or signed in yet with that exact email. Check for typos, such as a different domain.

They signed in but can't see the household

Check the email matches exactly. Ask them to sign out and sign in again, then check the Household selector is set to All households.
