Set up your household with guided setup
Guided setup walks you through five steps - household, people, file storage, documents and health - with a progress ring, a recommended next step and optional skips.
Overview
Guided setup is the card at the top of your Dashboard while your household is new. It is not a wizard that locks you in. Each step is a link to the real page where that work happens, and progress is worked out from your actual data. If you add a person from the People page, the step is ticked off automatically.
There are five steps:

Before you start
- Sign in to your account. See Create your account.
Steps
- Open Dashboard. The card shows a progress ring and a heading such as "Let's build your Personal360."
- Look at Recommended next. It names the one step worth doing now. Click its button, for example Create household.
- Complete the form on the page you land on. Return to the Dashboard to see the step marked Completed.
- Work through the step cards. Each card shows a status pill: You're here, Completed, Remaining or Skipped.
- On an optional step, click Skip for now if you are not ready. Click Bring this back to restore it later.
- Click Hide steps to shrink the card, or Show steps to expand it again.
Example
Asha Rao creates "the Rao household" and adds herself and her husband. She is not ready to scan documents yet, so she clicks Skip for now on Store IDs & documents. A week later the card says "You last added Ravi to your household" and offers Continue setup.
FAQs
Will setup restart if I sign in on another device?
No. Progress is calculated from your records each time, so you always continue where your household actually is.
When does the setup card go away?
Once every step is either completed or skipped. When the required steps are done, the card becomes a smaller strip showing only the optional steps that remain.
Can I skip choosing storage?
No. Storage is required because it decides where your files are kept. Choosing Personal360's own encrypted storage takes one click. See Choose where files live.
Troubleshooting
A step isn't marked as done
Check the Household selector in the sidebar. Steps count records in households you can access, so make sure you added the record to one of them. Then reload the Dashboard.
