AI features overview
A tour of every place Personal360 uses AI — the assistant, document scanning and summaries, medical report summaries and questions, and lab analysis — and what each one does.
Overview
Personal360 uses AI to save you typing and to help you find things. Every AI feature works on records you are already allowed to see, and none of them diagnose or give medical advice. If AI is not available, the rest of the app keeps working — you just fill fields in by hand.
Before you start
- AI features depend on your administrator having at least one AI provider set up.
- Features that change records, like scanning a document into its fields, need a role that can edit (Owner or Adult, or Limited on their own record).
Steps
Here is where each feature lives and how to use it.
- The assistant. Click Ask Personal360 (bottom-right) or use the header Ask bar. Ask about your records or how to do something. See Ask the assistant.
- Scan for data. On IDs & Documents, a document with a file attached shows Scan for data. It reads the file and suggests the number, expiry date, issue date and country. Check the suggestions before saving.
- AI summary. On a person's profile, each document with a file can show an AI summary — a short description of what the file contains. Click Refresh AI summary after replacing the file.
- Bulk intake. On a person's profile, Bulk add documents and Bulk add reports let you upload many files at once, or pick several from connected storage. Personal360 reads each one and files it against that person.
- Medical report Summary and Ask AI. On a medical report (on Medical & Health or a person's profile), Summary describes the report's contents and range status. Ask AI lets you ask a question about that one report, such as "What's the vitamin D value and is it in range?".
- Lab analysis. Under Medical & Health → Lab Analysis & Comparison, lab values are pulled from linked reports, tracked over time and shown against their reference ranges. View report opens a combined lab and health profile report.
- Telegram. Linked users can ask the assistant from Telegram. See Use the assistant on Telegram.
Example
The Mehta household drops a scanned driving licence into their Google Drive folder. On the next sync it is filed under Kabir Mehta on IDs & Documents. Kabir clicks Scan for data, sees the expiry date filled in, checks it against Preview, and saves. Expiry alerts now start automatically.
FAQs
Is AI used to diagnose health conditions?
No. Medical summaries and lab analysis describe values and whether they are in or out of the reference range. They are not medical advice. Always talk to a doctor about results.
Do AI features send my full ID numbers anywhere?
The assistant only ever receives masked numbers. Scanning, summarising and lab reading are different: they send the file itself to an AI provider so it can be read, so anything printed on it — including a full ID number — reaches that provider for that request. The results are saved encrypted in your record.
Can I turn AI off?
There is no per-user switch. Some AI reading happens automatically: uploading or linking a document file scans it for fields, and storage sync reads new files to file them under the right person. If you prefer no AI at all, enter records by hand without attaching files, and ask your administrator which AI providers are configured.
Troubleshooting
"Scan failed" or "Failed to summarize"
The file may be unreadable, or the AI providers may be busy. Wait a minute and try again. If it keeps failing, check the file opens with Preview — see File won't open or preview.
Lab values are missing after adding a report
Extraction can take a little time, and some files contain no lab numbers. See Lab values missing or wrong.
