Ask the assistant
Ask plain-language questions about your household records, or how to do something in Personal360, and get a short answer with the records it used.
Overview
The assistant answers questions about the records you are allowed to see — "When does my passport expire?", "What medications is Dad on?", "Where did I live in 2019?" — and shows the records it used as sources. It also answers "how do I…" questions about Personal360 itself, using the Help Center.
You can reach it in two places:
- Ask Personal360 — the button in the bottom-right corner of every app page. It opens the Assistant panel.
- The header bar — type into Search your records, or ask a question… and press Ask (or Enter).
Before you start
- You need to be signed in and belong to at least one household. A new account with no household has nothing for the assistant to read.
- Records must already be in Personal360. The assistant does not search the internet or your email.
- If you have one household pinned in the sidebar selector, the assistant only looks in that household. Choose All households to search everything you can see.
Steps
- Click Ask Personal360 in the bottom-right corner.
- Pick a focus at the top of the panel: All, Personal, Medical, History or Appointments. Leave it on All if you are unsure.
- Type your question in Ask a question… and click Ask.
- Wait while the panel shows Thinking….
- Read the answer. Under it, Sources lists each record used — the kind of record, its name and whose it is.
- If a source has a file, click download next to it to open the original. Downloads are recorded in the Activity log.
- Click Close to hide the panel.
Asking how to do something
Ask a question such as "How do I connect Google Drive?" or "How do I export my data?". The assistant replies with short steps and lists each guide it used under Sources as a Help article link. Click a link to open the full article.
Help articles are public documentation. They are kept separate from your records: a help answer never includes anyone else's data, and record answers stay limited to what you are allowed to see.
Example
Asha Rao, an Adult in the Rao household, asks: "When does Vikram's passport expire?"
The assistant replies that the passport for Vikram Rao expires on a date about seven months away, and lists Document: Passport (Vikram Rao) under Sources, with a download link. The passport number appears only in masked form, like •••• 4821.
FAQs
Will the assistant show me a full passport or Aadhaar number?
No. Sensitive numbers reach the assistant already masked. To see a full value, open the record and use its reveal action, which needs a role that allows it and is logged.
Why did I get a list of records instead of a written answer?
If AI answering is not set up, or every AI provider is busy, the assistant shows the matching records it found instead of a generated answer. Try again later, or ask your administrator.
Is my question saved?
The Activity log records that you asked a question, but not the question text. Master admins can see assistant questions and replies in an encrypted operations log used for support and quality.
Troubleshooting
"I don't have any records you're authorized to see for that question."
The assistant found nothing it is allowed to read. Check the household selector, then see Assistant can't find a record.
The answer looks out of date
The assistant reads live data at the moment you ask. If a record was just changed, ask again. If it is still wrong, open the record and check what is saved there.
