Ask AI about a report
Get a plain-language AI summary of a medical report, preview the file, and ask questions about its values, all without leaving Personal360.
Overview
Every medical report with a file has three buttons: Summary, Preview and Ask AI. They open a large viewer with the same tabs at the top, plus Download.
- Summary — an AI summary of what the report contains. It's saved, so it opens instantly next time. Click ↻ Regenerate for a fresh one.
- Preview — the PDF or image shown inline.
- Ask AI — type a question such as "What's the vitamin D value and is it in range?" and click Ask.
There is also a separate ✨ Ask AI button inside each person's lab report and comparison report. That one answers across all their analyzed lab data, not just one file. See Lab analysis and trends.
Before you start
- The report must have a file (uploaded or linked).
- AI answering must be available on your account. If it isn't, you'll see "AI answering is not configured."
- You need read access to the person's household.
Steps
- Open Medical & Health and click 🗂️ Records & Medications (or open the person's profile and scroll to Medical).
- Find the report and click Summary. Wait for "Reading the report…" to finish.
- Click Preview in the top bar to check the original.
- Click Ask AI, type your question, and press Enter or click Ask.
- Click ✕ or outside the viewer to close it.
Example
Vikram Mehta opens a blood test for his father and asks, "Is HbA1c in range?" The answer quotes the printed value (say 5.9%) and the reference range shown on the report, and says whether the value sits inside it. It doesn't suggest a diagnosis.
FAQs
Does the AI see my other records?
No. This viewer's Ask AI reads only that one report's text. Scanned files without a text layer are read as images.
Is my question recorded?
The activity log records that a question was asked about the report, and by whom, so your household has an audit trail.
Why does the summary say it couldn't be generated?
The file may be unreadable, image-only and blurry, or AI may be temporarily unavailable. Try ↻ Regenerate later.
Troubleshooting
Preview says "Can't preview this file type inline"
Only PDFs and images preview inline. Click Download to open other file types.
The answer is vague or wrong
Check the original in Preview. Poor scans produce poor text. Re-scan clearly and upload again if needed.
