Personal360 storage
The simplest option: upload files and Personal360 encrypts and keeps them for your household, with nothing to set up or connect.
Overview
Personal360 Managed storage means you upload files and Personal360 looks after them. Each file is encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before it is stored, and only your household can read what it uploads. There's no account to connect and no device to prepare.
The trade-off is that the files exist in Personal360 as well as wherever the originals live, because you upload a copy.
Before you start
- Only the household Owner can choose storage.
- If your documents already live in a cloud drive or NAS, consider connecting it instead so nothing is duplicated. See Choose where your files live.
Steps
- Open File Storage in the sidebar.
- In the wizard's Choose step, select Let Personal360 keep them. Press Reconfigure first if storage is already set.
- Press Use Personal360 Managed.
- The Complete step confirms the choice. Press Add documents → to start, or Done.
- To add files, open IDs & Documents and use Attach file on a document, or use Bulk add documents on a person's page.
Example
The Rao household doesn't use a cloud drive. Asha, the Owner, chooses Let Personal360 keep them and uploads scans of everyone's passports and PAN cards from her laptop. Each file is encrypted on the way in, and family members preview them from their own devices.
FAQs
Who can open the files?
Members of your household who can see the document. Opening and downloading are recorded in the activity log. See Preview and download files.
Can I move to a drive or NAS later?
Yes. Press Reconfigure and pick another option. Switching never deletes anything you've already uploaded, and those uploads keep working.
Does Personal360 sync folders for managed storage?
No. Automatic sync is for connected drives and NAS devices, where there's a folder to scan. With managed storage you add files yourself.
What happens to an uploaded file when I delete the document?
The uploaded file is deleted along with the document. This can't be undone.
Troubleshooting
Upload says it failed
Check the file type. Attach file accepts PDF, PNG, JPG/JPEG, WEBP, GIF, TXT, DOC and DOCX. Try again on a stable connection.
A teammate says they can't upload
Uploading needs a role that can edit (Owner or Adult, or Limited for their own record). Linking a file from connected storage needs Owner or Adult, because it browses the whole household's storage. View-only members can't add files. See Roles and permissions.
