Connect Google Drive

Connect your household's Google Drive with read-only access so Personal360 can link and read documents where they already are, without copying them.

Overview

If your family's scans already sit in Google Drive, you can connect it and keep them there. Personal360 asks Google for read-only access. It never uploads, edits or deletes anything in your Drive, and it keeps no copy — files are streamed when you open them.

Before you start

  • You must be the household Owner.
  • Decide which Google account to use: the one that owns the folder where the documents live.
  • Optional but helpful: keep the documents under one folder, such as "Personal360", so linking is quicker.
  • Google Drive is available only when your Personal360 administrator has enabled it. If you don't see this option, or the wizard says "This deployment isn't set up for Google Drive yet", your Personal360 administrator hasn't enabled it. Personal360 Managed works in the meantime.

Steps

  1. Open File Storage in the sidebar. Press Reconfigure if storage is already set.
  2. In Choose, select A cloud drive I already use, then Google Drive under Which one?
  3. Press Next: prepare → and read the two preparation notes.
  4. Press Next: connect →, then Connect Google Drive →.
  5. Sign in to Google and approve read-only access when asked. Personal360 also asks for your email address so the page can show which account is connected.
  6. You come straight back to File Storage, and the connection is tested. The checks are Account connected, Account, List files and Permission level, which should read "Read only, by design".
  7. Press Save and use Google Drive.
  8. The card now shows Connected account with your Google address.
Note:Google grants read-only access to the whole Drive; there's no per-folder permission to choose. Personal360 only ever reads.

Example

Asha Rao keeps a "Family Documents" folder in her Google account. She connects Drive, and the test reports how many items it can see at the top level. On IDs & Documents she presses Link cloud/NAS file on her passport record, opens "Family Documents", and links the scan.

FAQs

Yes. Once connected, Owners and Adults can browse and link files from it. Read-only Members and Limited members can't browse the household's storage. Only the Owner can change or disconnect the connection.

What if I revoke Personal360 in my Google account?

Linked files stop opening. Return to File Storage, choose Google Drive again and press Reconnect Google Drive.

Does Personal360 read my whole Drive?

It reads only what it needs: folders you browse, files you link, and files the automatic sync looks at. See Link files and auto-sync.

Troubleshooting

"Your provider didn't return a long-lived token"

Google still holds an earlier approval. Remove Personal360 from your Google account's connected apps, then connect again.

"The connection was cancelled or came back incomplete"

You closed the Google window or declined access. Nothing changed — press Connect Google Drive → again.

Files stopped loading

The saved approval may no longer be valid. Press Test again on the card; if Account connected fails, reconnect. See Storage troubleshooting.
